Pirate gear for the bold & their four-legged mates

Pups, Pirates, and Neon Lights

Glowing for a Cause: Our Pirate Crew at the 12th Annual Hermosa Beach Glow Ride This past Saturday, May 9, 2026, the pups and I traded the high seas for the illuminated coastal paths of Southern California! We loaded up for the 12th Annual Glow Ride at the iconic Hermosa Beach Pier, and it was hands-down one of the most magical nights of the spring. This incredible, family-friendly night cycling event is organized every year by the Claire's Place Foundation to raise funds and awareness for families living with cystic fibrosis. This year, the community completely outdid itself, coming together to celebrate resilience, honor the late founder Claire Wineland, and raise nearly $65,000 for vital healthcare grants! To celebrate, I completely decked out our pirate-themed bicycle and custom pirate barrel sidecar in vibrant neon LED lights. Of course, the crew had to match the vibe, so the pups rocked their signature pink pirate vests paired with bright pink glow collars and blinking pendants. We joined hundreds of glowing bikes, strollers, and skaters for a scenic, flat 3.4-mile round-trip loop along The Strand up to the Manhattan Beach Pier and back. Before the ride even kicked off, we hung out at the pre-ride Glow Station, danced alongside the Soundbox Truck's silent disco, and grabbed some local treats. Our pirate sidecar was an absolute crowd magnet! The pups were a massive hit, meeting so many incredible people and soaking up endless love and hugs. Penny was on duty handing out sweet pirate kisses to everyone she met, while Buttercup held down her title as the ultimate crowd-pleaser, leaning into every single hug. It was the perfect beach sunset turning into a neon-lit night, all supporting a cause that changes lives. * Did you see our glowing pirate ship rolling down The Strand? Let me know.
